How to choose between a residential and an on line Dutch crash course?
Choosing a one to one intensive Dutch language course depends, apart from available budget, on how fast you want to learn Dutch, understand and speak our language up to the level of proficiency you want.
Residential crash courses are full immersion. For the best possible result
organize you
don't have to bother about other things while studying Dutch. That's
why we call our residentials a learning Dutch 'retreat'
too.
Standard program residential is 5 days
from Monday to Friday, 6 private Dutch lessons and 2 hours of extra conversation a
day. It's an
efficient, intensive and
challenging pace to learn Dutch.
If you want more learning time, prolonging
with 1 or 2 weekends to get a 7 or 9 days intensive
may be more efficient. More Dutch lessons a day may be too
intensive.
Residential one to one
full immersion Dutch
courses already offer about 2 to 3 hours a
day more conversation = more informal learning
opportunities, teacher and/or locals involved in social or cultural
life present at all meals.
Our most efficient online courses of course don't
have room and board costs. There great advantage is
you can spread your 15, 21 or 26 two-lessons modules according what
fits you most. For an optimal result count at least 1 additional
hour for self-study per module.
You could also book more modules to include more conversations to
improve your Dutch conversation skills. This might be especially
useful if you're living abroad with little opportunity for talks in
Dutch.
If you prefer weekend courses: 1 or 2 weekends may suffice to brush up your proficiency. Starting from scratch you'll probably need 3 or weekends for 15 modules or better 4 weekends and 21 modules, to get up to proficiency level A2. Much depends on how used you are to learn foreign languages.
